Fall Leaves

Created by Sydney 8 years ago

Fall has come, and the leaves have started turning. I remember I used to go scavenging in the yard for the prettiest shapes and colors of leaves, and go biking down to the park, with my little red wheel-borrow attachment and find the prettiest leaves from a flourishing maple tree. Auntie Gini told me how much she loved the colorful leaves on the trees in our town, so I would take these leaves, melt a pot of wax with my dad, cover the leaves, and send them in an envelope with a little note and/or a picture, and send them to Auntie Gini. She would call me and tell me how pretty they were, how often she looked at them, how much everyone loved them, and where they were by the door so anyone could see them right as they walk in. I was so glad at how much she loved the leaves, and even something that seemed so simple to me, were found so special to her. This is one of the countless stories that makes her so sweet, caring, and loving to everyone in her life. I love you so much Auntie Gini, I hope you are enjoying this fall as much as I am, and that you are surrounded by the most extravagant, beautiful, and colorful trees in heaven, and that their leaves make you even happier! Every time I look at colorful fall leaves, I will think of you :)

I miss you and love you so much, I would do anything to be able to send you another year's worth, and answer another one of those calls.

Sydney.
